Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareu. Alexandra started her professional career in the show business from a young age. By the time she reached the age of 16years old, Alexandra was able to land prominent roles in a variety of television dramas. The role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historic war film) was both critically and commercially acclaimed. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is known for her participation in a variety of notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. They include the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historical miniseries Napoleon and many more. She was also part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
